Black Horse being quite early in our calendar tends to be before most of
our proper cars come out of the winter mothballs, hence the turnout
tends not to be brilliant. It used to be the tradition that we would go
on the grassy knoll to park but this fell out of favour as the grass had
generally not been cut and was above the axles. This year our Publicity
Officer had done his bit so the grass had been cut but not many ventured
onto it because the entrance is very small and guarded by two mighty
very narrow gateposts probably there to prevent unwanted caravanners!
We had 16 proper cars turn out of which one a potential new member in a
Rolls Royce 20/25 who was local and had found out about us from our
website. Also newish to me was the Simon Bishop new Singer and the
Aston-Martin which was not on my list. The Austin Healy was not on the
list either but departed early.
