The Cock at Headley was put back
in our programme after a couple of
years following its sudden shut-down just before one of our due
meetings there. Now under new management, it continues to be a
very popular eatery with a need to book in advance and a
relatively full car park. It continues to be dog friendly even to
the extent of accommodating a St Bernard. We missed our visit to
the pub last year because of Covid but found the pub as busy as
ever with the car park and pub packed out with dining
families. Weather continued its tradition of being very iffy
at this venue at this time of the year with heavy storms forecast.
Fortunately these started only as we arrived so the early photos
were in the dry. The deluge followed shortly thereafter and an icy
wind was blowing. Not much tyre-kicking ensued. So, a pretty poor turnout of
only seven proper cars, and five moderns. especially from
'westeners' asking for venues in their neck of the woods. |
