The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society (HCVS), they of the Commercial London to Brighton Run, organised a "Bring Your Vehicle Evening" at the Jolly Farmer Public House in Horne, which is where we, as the Surrey Vintage Vehicle Society, used to meet. Many of our Members are also Members of the HCVS, including their Chairman Fraser Clayton and Roger Bishop. Our SVVS Chairman is a Marshall on the Historic Brighton run, so ties are close. A number of other SVVS Members were there including Simon Bishop, Mike Gorman, Tony Tester, etc. The evening was lovely and warm and the ground was hard so no problems this year of some vehicles needing assistance to get out. Lots of lovely local ales in the pub and burgers and fish&ccips outside. It was a very well attended lovely evening and was much enjoyed by those who came. It seems the event has become better known and much better attended by the general 'Classic Car' fraternity as this year the Commercials were vastly outnumbered by the classics which occupied practically all of the adjacent field. What was also interesting this year is that the general public turned out in quite large numbers!
