This was a new venue for
our last outside Evening Meeting of the year. Our traditional Horseshoes
venue had recently closed. The Fox Revived is a thriving busy
pub and highly popular eatery so that the car park was entirely packed
with no spare spaces available at all. Fortunately they have an overflow
paddock a little away from the building which was very quickly grabbed
by us and also totally filled; sellout on parking. While cozy for us it
was not visible from the pub so people were not aware that our cars were
there; no great publicity value for the Pub or us. Also the paddock is
grass and although it was quite dry, there was wheel-spin which could be
problematic when wet. The evening weather was fine and dry and the sun
was setting as we were arriving. We therefore had a quite good turnout
of 35 members and 26 proper cars. Being secluded created a lovely
atmosphere for us and much chatting went on. Unfortunately the
paddock has no lighting so our Members started drifting off relatively
early while it was still possible to see each other; perhaps a
floodlight? Darness also means that some of the photos have been lightened
for ease of viewing.
