[ SVVS Lunchtime Meeting - The Red Barn, Blindley Heath -
October 2012 ] ::
This was our last outside mid-month meeting of the year
and, as has been often the case at this venue, the weather was kind to
us. It was a bright sunny day with no rain or hint of rain despite the
weather forecast. It was perhaps because of the weather forecast that
the turnout was marginally down on last year but we still had a
reasonable turnout of some 20 cars. We had been joined at this meeting
by a few members of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Surrey Branch from
Brooklands, but even their turnout was a bit meager. As usual a
number of our members had lunch at the pub which was of quite reasonable
quality. What we were not aware of was that as well as the SVVS and the
JEC, the MG Car club was also using the Pub as a watering-hole on one of
their runs so that when we were leaving a whole new influx of classic machinery
took our places in the very full car park. It seemed that the MG run
included other makes because there were quite a few Alvises and Humbers
also present. The following photos are by Bozi Mohacek. Please click
