The SVVS again displayed our vintage and classic vehicles in the old Tunnel above the Reigate Caves in the support of the National Heritage Open Day Scheme. This is no longer under the auspices of the Reigate Business Guild and it seems Reigate is no longer putting much effort into the event. At one time you could not miss the day for bunting and jazz bands and events all over the town. It seems the Heritage Open Day is now split between two weekends and we therefore did not have the competing car event in the Town Hall car park by the Giant Pledge charity. We did however have to share the venue with the Wealden Cave Society, who were conducting tours of the caves, and took up the middle of the tunnel. splitting us into two displays.  Our 22 vehicles did create interest in Tunnel Road but we were by no means overwhelmed by the crowds.  Many thanks to all of the SVVS Members who came. I asm not sure we even got a mention in the local press?
