:: [  S V V S Lunchtime Meeting  -  The Plough & Furrow, Smallfield  -  May 2012 ] ::

The Plough & Furrow in Smallfield seems to be getting better SVVS attendances these days having a reasonably fair selection of 18 vehicles including the rare visits of Chairman's Citroen 5CV, and Hon Auditor Tony Oakes' Humber Snipe.  Hon Sec Malcolm Bailey came in his Opel. Committee members Chas Moody came in the wedding Morris and Tony Russell in the Ford Pop convertible.  Locals Alderton 'Y-ed', Rices SpatFired, Harveys Morganned and the Smarts drived in the Tee. Regulars Messrs Wright and Drew came in the Herald and Moggy respectfully, and Desmond Peacock dragged one of his numerous Amilcars out for a spin. Also nice to see that Messrs Gosset made the effort in the XK Frenchmobile. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Maclennan came in the TD and the Capri. Also present was the unusual 1991 Honda Beat of Jerry Bar. The Rolls 20/25 owner is yet to join so remains anonymous.

The day did not finish well for Mr. Mohacek because the Chairman's Citroen only just got out of the Plough car park on the way back when it died completely and ignominiously. Mrs. Chairman had to get the LandRover out to tow him home, which is, fortunately, less than a mile away! Seems there was a dead short in the Mag. Established later that the magneto HT pickup brush was arcing to earth due to a fault in the bakelite. Seems to have now been fixed using windscreen crack filler goo!
