The Sunday lunchtime visit
to the Star in Lingfield signals that the 'summer season' is inevitably
drawing to a close, which is a bit of a shame, especially because the
Covid aftereffects are are still resulting in reduced attendances at our
meetings. This year the visit to the Star was also subject to the
additional sadness of the recent passing of HM the Queen and the attendant
funeral arrangements currently eing enacted. Some of our members, the SVVS
President included, were attending services at their local churches being
held in commemoration, which further affected the potential attendances. Notwithstanding,
we had a reasonable turnout of one bicycle, one motorcycle, one pedal car
and 16 automobiles. This included the sighting of the lesser-spotted-Snipe
of our Hon Treasurer on its annual migration presumably to the far off
shores of the MOT station.
