[ The
SVVS Treasure Hunt - April 2022 ] ::
The following photos are by Malcolm Bailey .
The Treasure Hunt was organised by Ian and Christine
Scott and commenced at their lovely home which used to form part of
the Woolf 'Babe' Barnato's Adenrun Estate. Woolf Barnato was a Kimberley Mines millionaire and one of the 1920s
'Bentley Boys', and he owned the Bentley Company before selling it to Rolls Royce.
Adenrun Place burned down but the extensive terraced grounds can still be
seen in the lower photo, just right of the end of the spruce trees. The Scott residence contains the original
coach and horses washing drive-through station which was a brick built
circular pond, the top of which is just visible centre as a circle of
rushes.

Christine (left in pink lower photo),
with neighbour Jo (just behind her), provided all entrants with a free
cup of coffee and a bacon buttie, which was much appreciated by all. Ian
(grey Pullover, cenre right lower photo) then explained the rules and
instructions. Their garden and the driveway was used as the car park. |
