:: [  Wednesday Wander - Buckland to  Forrest Green   ] ::

The "Wednesday Wander" is a invitation event that had in the past been organised by Bryan Goodman and Tim Harding, both members of the VCC, VSCC, and of the Surrey Vintage Vehicle Society. Regretfully both Bryan and Tim have since passed away, and the Covid era has intervened. The event has now been picked up again by Tim's brother Andy Harding and Tony Oakes who had organised the last event. The Wednesday Wander is a non-competitive event intended for 'vintage era cars'. This year the starting point was the Pheasant at Buckland where participants met for coffee at 10.00 hours. The event involves meeting at a starting point, being given a 'Tulip Roadbook' navigation instructions, subsequently navigating the route, and eventually meeting for a communal lunch at the finish. The run was just under 30 miles finishing at 1pm for lunch at the Parrot at Forrest Green. The Parrot is a bit of a tardis, - small from the outside but enormous and lovely on the inside, as well as having a massive awning covered area at the back. The Parrot provided an excellent cold buffet lunch which beat the assembled masses so some of it went back. The event was marginally smaller this year but was nevertheless much enjoyed by the participants and is likely to be repeated.
