Finally there is light at the end of
the tunnel. Coronavirus restrictions are slowly being lifted and small amount of
normality is beginning to return to the life of the Surrey Vintage Vehicle
Society. Normal open meetings at at the pub are scheduled to re-commence on 30th
June, but in the meantime we are allowed to hold Closed Field Meetings on
private ground open only to SVVS members socially distanced. Meetings were held
jointly at Church Farm and Fidlers Field, limited to 30 persons. Much rain
during the preceding weeks produced local flooding which forced the Fidlers
Field meeting to be held at the Red Barn. Fortunately Church Farm has a large
open air pole barn and plenty of hard-standing, so although the Church Field was
usable it was considered safer not to. So with 'no-shows' balancing the
'on-the-nights', we had 30 people and 22 cars. The evening stayed bright and dry
so some people held an impromptu picnic
