The Great SVVS Summer Picnic was held this year on a very hot day at the Priory Farm beside the rather lovely lake at South Nutfield. The Great S V V S  Picnic was much enjoyed by all who came along. Once again it was a great success and we are indebted to the Mr. & Mrs. V.E.O. for selecting such a superb venue and for making certain of good weather which was quite perfect. We must also thank them for arranging the event on the same day as the Redhill Air Show. Some great displays of aerobatics were put on for our benefit. The  B.B.M.F. Spitfire and Hurricane paid a visit as did a Nimrod which I, and probably most of us, had not seen flying before. After some 50 years it still looks very impressive. 

     

I counted 30 S V V S cars displayed around the field and the picnic was made comfortable by the shade provided by the large oak tree in the corner of the field. Not only were there more S V V S cars in attendance but most of their occupants lingered much longer than usual after the picnic.
