::[   INDEX TO 100+ CAR MAKE HISTORIES AND RESEARCH ARTICLES   ]::
SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN FOR THE SVVS WEBSITE

The SVVS HELP PAGES were introduced very soon after the start of the SVVS Website IN THE LATE 1990s when the original SVVS website was being hosted for us by Pat 'Tubby' Davis, one of the first pioneers of car club websites based incredibly in Gladstone, Australia, who understood the intricacies of the Arpanet and later Internet. PC Computers were still a novelty in days of Amstrad Word Processors and PCs were only just being able to go international on the World Wide Web via a clunky noisy modem and  pushed down a very slow telephone wire. Communications were slow.

The HELP PAGES were introduced as a way of helping SVVS Members indentify family cars from ancient pictures, -  and was later opened to the general public. We have subsequently identified some 5,000 various vehicles, some of which were very unusual or very obscure. Our HELP PAGES have a limitation of having about 80 words available to describe the incoming question and provide the outgoing answer. Sometimes this was simply not enough and longer articles had to be written to put the whole story of any enquiry into context. As the SVVS Website is mainly picture orientated, please find below a list of some of the more lengthy articles were the history and background was took a greater importance that the photo. All articles are a result of personal research and some of the articles are quite in-depth. So be prepared for some long and interesting reading.

SEARCH FACILITY

To institute a SEARCH FACILITY of our complete Website please open a new page in Google and type in
site:svvs.org search  The word 'search' should be the word actually being searched for, ie Citroen, or Steamer or 1907. NOTE: no spaces between  site:svvs.org  but there must be a space before the search word, ie site:svvs.org darracq

Quick search of only THIS page, use the computer's own  EDIT+FIND+Searchword  facility.
