IDENTIFICATION AND
DATING:1905 Argyll 10'12 Tourer
Photo received from Tim Ashby (UK) asking
if by any chance we might identify this car for him which comes from an
old plate glass negative that he has had for some time. --
Registration O 908 was issued by Birmingham
County Borough Council but their dating records are lost. The car
however was not made in Birmingham but made by one of the best known
Scottish car makers, then in Glasgow. The high number of the
registration indicates cca
1905 Argyll 10'12 Tourer,
2 cyl. 1985cc.

IDENTIFICATION AND
DATING:1906 Sanchis Tricar
Enquiry received from Sergio Landete (Spain)
who is investigating the history of a "Mass" car. The
connection was that Enrique Sanchis made cars sold by Leon Pierron who
also sold the Mass car in the UK. --
Very interesting detail of the 1906
Sanchis Tricar, way ahead of its time,
was that it had the frame and the body made of unified pressed steel
rather than tubes. Went on to make voiturettes in Courbevoie in France
in 1910-12 with chassis/body pressed as one unit with riveted
bodypanels.

DATING:1912
Humber 12'20 Tourer
Two emails and three photos received from
Richard Perrin (UK).
The first one saying he is attaching two photos of a car which he
believes is a 1912 Gladiator. His parents told him that Great Uncle
owned such a car. In both cases he thinks it is the car on the left of
the picture. The third is at Great Uncle's hotel in Bewdley,
Worcestershire. -- Complicated.
The car on left is indeed a Gladiator but the one on the right, and in
the hotel yard, are of a new
cca 1912 Humber 12'20 Tourer.

Two emails and three photos received from
Richard Perrin (UK).
The third was taken at Great Uncle's hotel in Bewdley, Worcestershire,
and is notated as 'unknown couple' and seems not so important. --
Complicated and a shame, because the car
on left is indeed a Gladiator, and the 'unknown couple' is also
of a cca
1912 Gladiator Tourer, possibly a
12'14 series P. Probably Great Uncle's car! Gladiator was owned
at the time, and also marketed as, Vinot & Deguingand,
France.
